ITEMS DESIGNATED HEREIN WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THE BERNARDSVILLE COMPOST FACILITY ON TWO (2) SATURDAYS BETWEEN 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM ONLY. RESIDENTS WILL BE ALLOWED TO DISPOSE OF ONE PICK-UP TRUCK OR VAN OF MATERIAL FREE OF CHARGE. RESIDENTS MUST PROVIDE PROOF OF RESIDENCY IN ORDER TO ACCESS THE FACILITY.
The Borough of Bernardsville Compost Facility will accept household items; furniture, heating boilers, hot water heaters, stoves, washing machines, clothes dryers, *air conditioners, *refrigerators and *freezers, dishwashers, **lawnmowers, **weed whackers, carpets, bedding, mattresses, and similar household appliances;
* Refrigerant does not need to be evacuated from the appliance. The Borough will have refrigerant removed and recycled by a certified technician.
**Fuel and oil must be removed from lawn mowers and other gas/diesel powered devices prior to disposal at the facility.
EXCLUDED ITEMS: Tires, automobiles and any parts thereof, building and construction materials, asphalt, rocks, bricks, earth, grass and yard waste, railroad ties, industrial refuse, hazardous materials, demolition materials, tree stumps, logs of wood, broken concrete, chemicals, motor oil, propane containers, paint containers, and recyclable materials (newspapers, books, glass, aluminum, bimetal cans, plastic, cardboard, batteries, etc.), Electronics (television sets, stereos, PCs, printers and similar equipment).
Note: No scavenging will be permitted at the facility.
